Operating Instructions for Ratchet Reel Lane Tightener

 

 

WARNING:

When reel is under tension, never hit thumb pawl with ratchet wrench to release catch lock. Do not allow reel spool to run free. This will damage teeth on spool and cause backlash of cable. It is also dangerous to the operator.

Tightening Lanes

1. Use only the supplied Allen wrench to tighten lanes.
2. Wind cable on reel spool evenly. Do not overlap.

Releasing Lanes

1. Use only the supplied Allen wrench to loosen lanes.
2. Increase lane tension enough to release pressure on locking device.
3. Depress thumb pawl on locking device and allow spool to release tension one notch at a time.
4. Repeat steps 2 and 3 until tension is completely released.
